  82. The Black Swan is quick, powerful, small,
  83. inexpensive and easy to use HTML editor
  84. able to design very sophisticated web pages,
  85. HTML help files or any documents written
  86. in Hyper Text MarkUp Language (HTML).
  87. Black Swan provides a set of visual
  88. development tools and professionally
  89. designed templates allowing you quickly
  90. design web pages.

  92. Black Swan is a stand-alone program, and
  93. does not require any other expensive programs
  94. like word processors or HTML validators
  95. for designing complete web pages, ready
  96. to go to the Internet. Black Swan is
  97. oriented to all users ranging from
  98. occasional home or business development
  99. to professional web page designers.

  101. Black Swan provides a set of powerful web
  102. page visual development tools covering
  103. whole web page design cycle and it gives
  104. an user a possibility to create a complete web
  105. page, ready to go on the web.

  107. The Tag Inspector is a powerful visual tool
  108. which enables you to insert any HTML tag
  109. or attribute into the web page in just a few

  115. attributes, but Tag Inspector takes care

  130.  2. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  132. Black Swan requires Windows 95/NT 
  133. operating system, an 80486 or better
  134. processor and 8Mb of system memory.
  135.  
  136. A full installation of Black Swan requires
  137. approximately 7.5 Mbytes of hard disk space.

  140.  3. INSTALLATION
  141. ----------------------------------------
  142. To install Black Swan, run SETUP.EXE.
  143. This can be run on either
  144. Windows 95/98, NT3.51/4.0.
  145.  
  146. By default, Black Swan installs into the
  147. \Program Files\Black Swan HTML Editor
  148. directory.This assumes you have used the
  149. default directory structure.
  150.  
  151. Installation Notes
  152. -------------------
  153.  
  154. - In the Set Directories dialog, the Browse
  155.   button displays a Choose Directory dialog
  156.   that allows you to select a root directory
  157.   where all your files will be installed.
  158.   On some systems, browsing to a drive other
  159.   than C:\ will give an erroneous message
  160.   indicating that the drive is not available.
  161.   When this happens, simply type in the
  162.   path name directly and the drive will be
  163.   recognized.
  164.  
  165. - Setup automatically sets the target directory
  166.   for the Borland Database Engine to the location
  167.   of any existing BDE. Setup program gives you a
  168.   warning if BDE is detected on your computer.
  169.   When this happens, simply answer "Yes".

  174. 4. PARTIAL BORLAND DATABASE ENGINE
  175.    INSTALLATION
  176. ----------------------------------------

  178. Black Swan comes with partial Borland Database
  179. Engine in order to reduce application size and time
  180. of downloading.
  181.  
  182. A Partial BDE install imposes the
  183. following limitations:
  184.  
  185. - No two BDE Client applications can run
  186.   on the same machine at the same time.
  187.   If a BDE Client application is already
  188.   running on your system you will receive
  189.   the following error message on startup:
  190.  
  191.   "An Error occurred while attempting to
  192.    initialize to Borland Database Engine
  193.    (Error $210C)"
  194.  
  195. If you have this error quit Paradox for
  196. Windows, dBASE for Windows, Delphi,
  197. Quattro Pro , ReportSmith and other
  198. programs using the Borland Database Engine.
  199.  
  200. - A Partial BDE install must place BDE DLL
  201.   files in your program's run directory.
  202.  
  203. If you have already Borland Database Engine
  204. on your computer you will get the following
  205. message:
  206.  
  207. "Setup has detected the Borland Database
  208. Engine (BDE) on this system. Continuing with
  209. setup will install a partial version of BDE
  210. in a different directory, which may cause
  211. problems when both versions of BDE are being
  212. used. We recommend that you contact the
  213. supplier of this application to obtain a full
  214. version of BDE compatible with this
  215. application. Continue with setup ? "
  216.  
  217. Answer "Yes" on this question.

  260.  6. UNINSTALLING BLACK SWAN

  263. Un-install program will not check to see
  264. if your application is running when you try
  265. to un-install, and may leave some files on disk.
  266. To avoid this problem, make sure that you
  267. shut down your application prior to un-installing.
  268.  
  269. To remove Black Swan from your computer:
  270.  
  271.     1.  Open the Control Panel folder
  272.     2.  Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon
  273.     3.  Select Black Swan from the list display
  274.     4.  Click the Add/Remove button
  275.     5.  Click the Yes button to remove the software
  276.     and all related files
  277.  
  278. In accordance with Microsoft uninstall conventions,
  279. the uninstall program will ask before removing any
  280. shared files such as those related to the
  281. Borland Database Engine.
